Taraneh Arianfar

Founder and Director

In addition to her qualifications in immigration law and business, Taraneh brings a personal touch from her own migration experience. With extensive industry experience and a deep understandings of migration complexities, she guides her team as they aim to find pathways for all, even those who have lost hope. Her career at VETASSESS has been a cornerstone of her professional development, laying the groundwork for her expertise in the field.

Beyond her expertise in all aspects of migration, Taraneh’s true passion lies in connecting individuals with life transforming opportunities. She values them as contributors to Australia’s growth and diversity. Taraneh’s fluency in Persian (Farsi) adds to her team’s commitment of ensuring accessibility for a diverse range of clients. With her solid dedication, she has never met a client for whom a pathway to permanent residency couldn’t be found. 

In 2024, under Taraneh’s leadership, Migration Affairs was successfully named a finalist in the NSW Telstra ‘Best of Business Awards.

Anh Tran

Principal Lawyer

Anh Tran was born in Vietnam and came with her family to Australia as a refugee. Living in a Malaysian camp for 9 months as a young child, Anh’s first-hand experience as a refugee has led to her interest in migration law.

Anh completed her Bachelor of Business, Juris Doctor and Masters of Law at the University of Technology, Sydney and was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 2009. Before joining Migration Affairs, Anh worked for accredited specialist migration law firms, and for a time ran her own practice.

She has experience not only in migration law but also expertise in property and commercial matters as well as estate planning.

Outside of work, Anh enjoys time with her family as well as tapping into her creative side as a party planner and event manager.

Anh Tran

Jenny Nguyen

Senior Lawyer

As a child of migrants and having witnessed the struggles her parents faced, she developed a deep understanding of the challenges and hardships that accompany the immigrant experience. 

Following her completion of a Bachelor of Laws and Commerce (2018) at the University of Wollongong, and Practical Legal Training, Jenny was admitted as a Solicitor in New South Wales in 2019. She brings experience from regional as well as Sydney based large law firms where she specialised in immigration and property law. She has worked with corporate clients across industries such as hospitality, construction, professional and technical services and healthcare.

Her ability to communicate in Vietnamese has greatly assisted clients in their understanding of the migration law process and has helped break down possible barriers toward achieving migration.

Jill Vidler

Senior Lawyer

Jill who has been practising law since 1990 graduated from University of Technology Sydney and followed this with studies at Masters level at Bologna University, Italy. She also has qualifications in sociology. Much of Jill’s legal career has focussed on defending the rights of refugees and people seeking asylum. She has specialised in advocacy for protection visa and humanitarian visa applicants taking her to all the detention centres across Australia. Jill knows about and cares for refugees at all stages of the refugee recognition process. She defends those facing visa and citizenship cancellations. Her commitment to this aspect of law has been for such a long period that she is now supporting second and third generations of the original applicants. Jill’s extensive knowledge has been shared over the years through her lectures in courses for those training to be migration agents and interpreters. She has now taken on a consultancy and advisory role in Migration Affairs®. In her personal time Jill likes to escape to their rural property where her 10 grandchildren are frequent visitors.

Syera Rehmani

Syera Rehmani

Lawyer

Driven by her experience as a second generation Australian, Syera’s passion lies in helping people navigate the immigration framework to find their place in Australia.
Through her years in immigration practices, Syera has helped manage the visa programs of large multinational and local corporate clients, in the technology, health and retail sectors. She has also provided many individuals with specialised immigration advice on complex situations concerning character, unlawful residence, and health waivers.


Syera’s qualifications include a Bachelor of Laws (2012), a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the College of Law (2013) and was admittance as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales (2014).

Andrew Nguyen

Paralegal

As an immigrant from Vietnam, Andrew has personal experience along with his family of the challenges commonly encountered during the migration process to Australia.
With a background in business law, he has successfully assisted clients across industries in achieving their objectives. His experience with a diverse clientele has provided him with understandings of the difficulties in cross-cultural communications, international transactions, and visa requirements.

Andrew is presently completing a Bachelor of Laws and Commerce at the University of New South Wales.

His personal interests include hiking, exploring new landscapes and cooking. Andrew can speak both English and Vietnamese fluently.  See Profile

Jacqueline Nguyen

Paralegal

Migrating to Australia in 2022 from Vietnam to pursue higher education, Jacqueline has experienced first-hand what it means to be a migrant.  She has a deep understanding of and compassion for those undertaking the migration process. 

Her experience in working with clients from different backgrounds, makes her committed to supporting her clients in understanding and satisfying the requirements of visa applications, especially for business sponsorship and labour agreement visas. Her ability to speak Vietnamese has greatly supported her in communicating effectively with many clients. Jaqueline is currently studying Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and Bachelor of Arts at the University of Sydney. 

Outside of her professional career, she is a multimedia artist, scuba diver, and hiker.

Dr Marie Wood

Communication & Marketing Manager

Marie commenced her career in education where she taught in Government and Catholic schools leading to her role as Principal. An opportunity to work in the area of new school development led to her interest in marketing and communications. She was appointed as the initial Marketing and Communications Coordinator for Catholic Education SA growing and leading a team to support over 100 schools. Marie values ongoing learning and holds qualifications in education, human resources and a doctorate in Marketing & Communications. She continues to undertake courses to further her knowledge and skills as a board director. She is an experienced board director and currently serves on boards involved in aged care, social housing and supporting refugees and asylum seekers. At this point in her career Marie is committed to providing mentoring and coaching to those in business, universities, not for profits and on boards. She is delighted to be part of the Migration Affairs®  team as Marketing & Communications Manager. In her spare time Marie maintains a routine of yoga, walking and swimming while ongoing studies in Italian aim to keep her brain active. See Profile

Peter Wood

Peter Wood

Business Development Manager

Beginning his career in education, Peter followed his part time interest in restoring houses to establish his own building related business. For over 30 years he developed and grew Allstone Pty Ltd travelling to many overseas destinations as he exported and imported stone. Peter sold his successful South Australian business in 2020. Over the years Peter has mentored and supported many business owners using his skills in business analysis and strategy, finance and people to assist them to develop their directions. Peter is now pleased to be joining Migration Affairs®  as Business Development Manager. As part of his semi retirement, Peter has decided to assist start up companies, keeps fit and has taken up competitive bridge, a past time he claims is keeping his brain sharp!

Nicole Ge

Administration Support

Nicole’s business experience in Hong Kong, Mainland China and Australia makes her ideally placed to offer general administrative support for the Migration Affairs team.

 As a qualified accountant with a Master of Commerce degree from the University of Sydney she also carries out financial administration duties. 

Her fluency in Mandarin and Cantonese enables her to assist clients using these languages. In her personal time, Nicole enjoys music and travel as well as spending time with her family.
