Victoria State Nomination for Business Innovation and Investment Visa (Subclass 188A)

The Victorian Government has introduced the Victorian Business Innovation stream (subclass 188A) visa.

Successful applicants can stay in Australia for up to 5 years. They can apply for permanent residency after three years of holding this visa subject to meeting the requirements.

There is no fee for expressing interest, and the Victorian Government will complete the process within 20 business days.

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for this visa, you must be under 55 years of age, have vocational English, have a STEMM qualification or an MBA or have a relevant business history in a target sector.

You need an innovative business proposal, have scored at least 65 points, be committed to meeting permanent residence requirements, and meet the Department of Home Affairs requirements, including minimum financial requirements.

You will need to provide your passport, English language evidence, Qualification documents, Victorian Nomination conditions declaration form and an Appointment of agent form (if required).

188 Nomination and Visa Process

To apply for the Victorian Business Innovation Stream (subclass 188A) visa nomination, you must submit an expression of interest with SkillSelect before applying for the visa. You must respond to any requests for further information within 14 days.

After you submit your application, the Skilled and Business Migration Program team will review it and provide you with a recommendation letter. If any documents are requested, you must respond within two weeks.

Applications are usually finalised within 20 business days.

Once you are nominated, you can submit your visa application to the Department of Home Affairs, but it must be within 60 days and comply with your Victorian Nomination Obligations for subclass 188A.
