Skilled migrants meeting the South Australian state nomination requirements will be able to directly apply for a nomination from 8 am, Tuesday 20 July 2021.
South Australia has released its skilled occupation list which outlines the specific requirements for each occupation.
Their skilled migration program will focus on the following categories:
- Talent and Innovators Program
- Currently working in South Australia
- International graduate of South Australia
- Offshore registration of interest – Critical skills
Talent and Innovators Program
You could be eligible under this program if you fall under one of the following streams:
- Employment stream – you are highly skilled and work for an SA business
- Outer regional SA workforce stream – you are working for an outer regional SA business
- Start up and small business stream – you have started your own business in SA
- High performing graduate stream – you are a high performing graduate and completed your qualification in SA
- Independent talent stream – you are a high calibre applicant
Currently working in South Australia
You must be living and working in South Australia.
If you are living and working in outer regional SA or are a long-term resident working and living in SA, you may be eligible for certain concessions to the skilled work experience requirements.
International graduate of South Australia
You must be currently working in your nominated or closely related occupation for the last 3 months in South Australia (post-course completion), unless specified differently for your occupation.
Offshore registration of interest – Critical skills
Specific trade and health occupations are now available to offshore applicants. You can submit a Registration of Interest (ROI) application if you meet the published requirements for your occupation.
Examples of occupations in which an offshore ROI is available:
- Health Occupations: Medical Diagnostic Radiographer, Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, Speech Pathologist, Audiologist
- Trade Occupations: Roof Tiler, Solid Plasterer, Fibrous Plasterer, Glazier, Painting Trades Worker, Floor Finisher, Carpenter, Joiner, Stonemason, Bricklayer
